Here's a hint...
It's HOT out here in the Pacific Northwest!
Fred doesn't mind as long as his fan is turned on.
It might be that my eyes are unaccustomed to the seeing anything but grey and green,
but the flowers seem
unusually saturated and vibrant!
No need to be jealous of this guy
who is loving the sun and heat
because it seems to me
that his Maserati? Ferrari?
doesn't have enough room for fabric!
Lila is resigned to the fact that I will be sewing...
heat or no heat.
(Behind my husband's suit case is my creative mess!)
Thoughts of cooler temperatures
got me playing with my Christmas fabric.
Top and bottom is a Nancy Wolfe design...
LOVE her whimsy!
One of my favorite favorites is this one...
we know the importance of MRS. Claus!
I started to make some Christmas postcards
in anticipation of another class.
I really enjoy the satisfying nature of
creating something small
and the freedom of collage!
A few years ago I was hooked on making trees...
I even entertained the idea
of making 500 trees!
I stopped at 60+
and called it wrapping paper!
Uh oh...
I hear the trees calling again!
I am also hearing a whisper
to plan another big trip!
Maybe...
I continue to work on not taking life too seriously,
trusting that the universe is ultimately good...
continuing to move, one step in front of the other...
remembering to...
After you wring out your panties, ponder this...
In the book, When Things Fall Apart, by Pema Chodron,
she says,
"If sometimes we can approach what scares us, and sometimes we absolutely can't,
then that is our experience.
'This moment is the perfect teacher, and it's always with us'
is really the profound instruction.
Just seeing what's going on - that's the teaching right there."
Beautiful works and teachings. I love your postcards and TREES!
ReplyDeleteand of course you have fun wild xmas novelties. I love Nancy Wolfe's fabric too, such a bummer she's only doing the expensive canvas-y Japanese fabric. oooh, that's going to be a fun trip! love the wrapping paper quilt - fun and original.
