SERENE WORKSHOP WITH SUJATA SHAH
Arranging workshops
has become a really fun part of my life.
I love gathering like minded creative spirits
and sharing some good laughs and camaraderie
while basking in the energy
of these great teachers.
Last weekend,
Sujata Shah,
a most beautiful, sweet, calm, and creative soul...
the author of the
totally fun and right up my alley -

spent a lovely Saturday guiding us through her
Organised Chaos pattern.
In class,
I used my regular
saturated, bright, and bold palette.
After class,
I had no mojo to keep going.
Why?
It was perplexing...
after five weeks of travel and no sewing
I was starting to think
I might not enjoy quilting any more.
Really?!
Thankfully
(while driving in the car)
it popped into my cute brain
that perhaps
a gentler, grayer, and lower volume palette
was what was needed.
YES!!!
Sujata said these blocks
are like potato chips...
very addicting.
Fianlly,
I agree (!)
and am envisioning
a huge cozy quilt for
our impending Godzilla El Nino winter!
I think the desire for this palette
has come from the many recent hours spent
staring at Jen Kingwell's fabulous quilts in her book -

Here's a beginning of one of her patterns
that I am hoping to finish before
she arrives in November!
Our last stop in Europe
had been on my bucket list for years...
Mont St. Michel.
Simply magical...
