A playFULL GIVEAWAY # 5

I arranged another workshop this weekend.
A wonderful two days of play
with Denise Oyama Miller
in her "Mixing It Up" class.
http://deniseoyamamiller.com/

Denise is a wonderful artist!
She has the current show (with her partner Nancy Ryan)
at the LaConnor Quilt Museum.

Lucky for us,
Denise is also a most fabulous teacher!
She guided us through the many layering steps
and brought out great creativity in all of us!
Unbelievably,
every one of us left with
a finished quilt on a 12 x 12 canvas!

Getting started...

layering fabrics and ephemera...

making paper with tea bags...

putting on a layer of medium...

sunshine (!) for speeding the drying process...

painting the edges of the canvas...

more layering with an atomizer...

and stencils...

gluing onto the canvas...

a few finishes...

Christine...

Chris...

Dorothy...

Julie...

Carolyn...

Cindy...

here's my field of sun flowers...

A huge THANK YOU
not only to Denise
but also to the lovely group of ladies
I had the honor of playing with today!

  5. That workshop looks wonderful and the projects turned out great! My musical tastes are all over the place, but mostly oldies like Dire Straits, David Bowie and Paul Simon. I don't really keep up with the new stuff.
