I finally jumped on the band wagon
with the Matrimony pattern!
http://www.aardvarkquilts.com/patterns.php.
I decided to raw edge the pieces...
and am contemplating whether or not to fill in the triangle parts of the curves...
Not my usual pallette...
I am trying to channel my inner Dorothy
(a reliably sophisticated and elegant quilter!)

I like prints with birds, leaves, animals, and anything that makes me chuckle. The Metro Cafe (Robert Kaufman) print from some years back with the toast popping out of the toasters is a favorite of mine that still amuses me. I love the flamingo prints! I just made a little zip pouch for my sister with a 3 inch paper pieced flamingo. Should have had some fabrics like yours for the lining! Thanks for the chance to win this great giveaway!

ReplyDeleteHow can you not love Walter! Just looking at him makes me smile and melts my heart. Regarding the type of fabric I collect, well, I can't say that it's a particular theme, but I guess I'm partial to Kaffe Fassett and all the Rowan collections, along with anything Batik or catches my eye. I already am a follower and receive your newsletter. Thanks for this and all future giveaway opportunities. lv2bquilting2@comcast.net
ReplyDeleteOh I collect..... Cotton Fabrics! :) There's always room for a few more yards! ;) Seriously, I try to build up my stash but I use fabric as soon as it makes it to my sewing room. The Flamingo's are adorable, I have a soft spot for Flamingos....when I was teaching elementary art, many of my students couldn't pronounce my last name and by the end of the year all of my students were calling my Miss Flamingo!
